Daisy from Andalusia Alabama Humane Shelter

Daisy is a Vizla - Lab mix full of love and snuggles. She was adopted by Philip and Alison Kinney the summer of 2015.

It was a long road for both Daisy and the Kinney's before their paths crossed—seven years into a second marriage between Philip and Alison, they never imagined being able to care for a dog between their crazy schedules of work and raising 3 kids.

When the constant pleading of their youngest, Laura Stanton, turned into saying she would take a hairless cat if only she could have a pet, they caved.

After a long search of a perfect dog for their family, they found Daisy!

The Andalusia Alabama Humane Shelter rescued Daisy from very unfortunate circumstances in January of 2015 just before she gave birth to six pups. That was her second litter.

Despite the difficult cards that daisy had been dealt before arriving at the shelter, she had a joyful and loving demeanor. The shelter bragged on her for her motherly instincts with her newest litter of puppies.

Daisy was two years old when the Kinney's adopted her in July of 2015. Soon after, the last two of her pups found a home as well.

So happily ever after for this family? Absolutely! But a new member soon joined them.

After falling in love with their "Daisy girl" the Kinney's decided one dog just wasn’t enough!

They wanted a new Vizla puppy. They searched all the local humane shelters with no luck of finding one. They eventually decided they would find a responsible breeder.

They would suggest the following steps in finding a breeder who is loving to the dogs and responsible in taking care of them:

* Begin a clear communication that you are looking for a responsible breeder.

* Ask them if you could tour their facility. If they turn you away - RUN!

* Once you tour their facility, ask them a lot of questions about their cleanliness. They need to prove that they are taking extra steps in assuring the dogs are protected from deceases and are in a pleasant environment.

This august, they brought home a sweet boy Vizla puppy named George.

He is full of energy and growing like a weed; but most importantly, he brings so much joy to the family, even to Daisy. Daisy, being the loving mother she is, has taken George under her wing to teach him all the tricks of being a good dog.
